Abstract

If human resources management is viewed as a scientific discipline and then as a management function, drawing parallels between different business activities, certain regularities can be observed. These regularities are reflected in the similarity of the stages of human resource management (practices in most activities and certain deviations in others. Deviations occur in the field of information technology - this is a precondition (hypothesis) tested in the work. Working through secondary and primary research tries to spot the differences between human resources management in the form and scope that is common in domestic and foreign practice of most business activities and practices in IT enterprises (broader subject of research), especially small IT companies, such as those that is studied in this paper (a narrower subject of research). Small IT companies that develop and implement various software and other IT solutions are significant partners (suppliers) of medium and large enterprises and systems, and their importance to the economy is whole. Hence the author’s interest in small IT businesses and the way they organize the function as well as the HR practices within them.
