Biography

Dr Bojana Mirković (female) is associate professor at the Division of Airports and Air Traffic Safety, Department of Air Transport.
Educated at University of Belgrade, where she received her dipl.ing. (2005), Magister (2008) and PhD (2014) degrees, all in Air Transport and Traffic Engineering. Additional professional experience she gained through internships at three airports (Tenerife Sur, Munich and Zurich) and a number of certified courses/seminars on aviation safety, air transport economics, human factors, resources allocation, project management, etc.
During eighteen years of experience she has been involved in labs and lecturing (Airports, Air Traffic Control, Air Navigation, Transportation Networks and Meteorology). Since 2014 she is a leader of four courses (two undergraduate, one postgraduate and one PhD) on Airports. She also took part in education of air traffic controllers at SMATSA training centre (2015-2017), and since 2017 takes part in education of air force pilots at University of defence – Military academy. She was a member of committee in over 100 undergraduate, graduate and PhD theses.
She has taken part in over 30 research and consulting projects mainly concerning airports, but also ATM and aviation in general (clients: Munich Airport, Abu Dhabi Airports Company, TIBAH Consortium, Yooshin Engineering Corporation, EUROCONTROL, Belgrade Airport, etc.; research grants: Ministry of Science and Technological Development, Serbia, Swiss National Science Foundation, SESAR Joint Undertaking, European Commission, etc.). Recently she was involved with Horizon 2020 projects (AUTOPACE, APACHE, CADENZA, FARO) and Knowledge Transfer Network Engage. Currently she is involved with Horizon Europe projects (MAIA, MUSE) and Knowledge Transfer Network Engage 2.
She is co-author of more than 40 papers (journal and conference); two textbooks, one practicum and one authorized handouts – all in the field of airports. She is a licensed professional engineer. She is Main Member of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) Standing Committee on Airspace and Airfield Performance (AV060). Other professional and academic activities: PhD defense committee member (University of Calgary and University of Zagreb), expert in working groups (Ministry of construction, transport and infrastructure, Republic of Serbia), reviewer of project documentation (South Korea airports), reviewer in scientific journals, reviewer of project proposal (Dutch Research Council), etc.
